2024 A Level results

  • Over a third of all entries achieved A* or A grade (35.8%) which is 8% above the national average
  • More than two thirds of entries have been awarded A* to B grades (68.9%)
  • 99.7% pass rate at A Level

Celebrating today are:

  • Ismail Mehmood who achieved 3 A* and 1 A (Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science) and will now go to Imperial College London to read Computer Science. Senior prefect, Ismail said, “I’m very proud of my results, I’ve worked very hard, but the support of the school has been fantastic in achieving this.”

  • Hattie Bussell achieved 1 A* and 2 A (Biology, Geography, and Chemistry) and A in her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and will read Medicine at University of Liverpool. Hattie has attended Trent College and The Elms since Year 5 and said, “I’ve greatly enjoyed my time at Trent, I’ve made so many friends and the teachers have been great. I’m so happy and so excited to be off to Liverpool!”
Hattie Bussell will read Medicine at University of Liverpool.

 

  • Tommy Kuschel has achieved 1 A* and 2A (Economics, Maths and History) and will go to the University of Bath to read Economics. He said “I’ve been at Trent since Year 7 and loved my time here. The support of the teachers has been wonderful, and I have so many happy memories.”

  • Roxane Loewenberg has achieved 2 A* and 1 B (Art & Design, French and History) and will now study at Fashion School in Bordeaux. Roxane, a senior prefect at the school said, “The art teachers gave me so much support, opportunity and freedom to express and experiment. I’m so happy with the results and my time here.”
Roxane will now study at Fashion School in Bordeaux.

 

Amongst the other students also celebrating are:

  • James Ollerton who achieved 3 As (Maths, Physics, and Chemistry) “I’ve been at Trent since the Elms. I’ve had a wonderful time with great people and awesome teachers. I will now go to University of Sheffield to read Mechanical Engineering.”
  • Tom Hall achieved A* and 2 As and will now take a year out to volunteer in Costa Rica before reading Psychology at Exeter, said “The teachers were an excellent undeniable help in achieving my dream grades.”
  • Anastasia Gooding achieved 3 As (Business, Geography and PE) and will now study Equine Business Management at Hartpury University.
  • Leo Allanson achieved 2 As, 1 B, and A in the EPQ said, “The Careers staff encouraged me to research Degree Apprenticeship. Now I will begin a 5-year degree apprenticeship in Environmental Management with the Ministry of Defence. The Careers team and my tutor have been amazing support at the different stages of the application.”
  • Johnny Hounsell achieved 1 A*, 1 A, 1 B said, “I really didn’t think I would have achieved this. The support of the teachers and my determination have really paid off and now I can read Chemistry at Newcastle University.”

Head of Trent College, Mr Bill Penty said, “Our students’ hard work and talent are demonstrated by today’s published results. I fully congratulate them on their achievements. We are particularly pleased with the number of A*-A grades which are 8% above the national average”

“Our students have not only achieved these strong exam results, but also a wide range of other achievements within Trent College, which have prepared them with vital skills such as resilience, leadership, critical thinking and self-confidence, which will enable them to go on and flourish in a modern world.“

Along with the rigours of A Level studies and extra-curricular pursuits, 14 students took on the challenging Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) with 100% of students achieving A-C.

Today also saw the publication of BTEC results. Trent College student Ella-Grace Sayer achieved Distinction * Distinction in BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Sport alongside her A Level in Art & Design. Ella-Grace will now study Sport and Exercise Science at Nottingham Trent University.
