The national competition is run by the Royal Society of Biology and aims to encourage pupils to develop an interest in Biology that goes beyond the school walls.
37 pupils sat two 25 minute papers which featured challenging questions that tested their understanding of classroom topics as well as their wider knowledge of the subject. 17 of those pupils received a prestigious Bronze, Silver or Gold award and a further 10 were highly commended.
Olivia Finlay, Head of Biology, said, “I am incredibly proud of the efforts of our Year 10 Biologists in the UK Biology Challenge. They have shown real promise and we look forward to seeing what they can achieve next year in their GCSEs and in future Biology competitions.”
