Mr Gregory
Director of Operations
Joined Trent College: 2009
As Director of Operations, Mr Gregory has a varied executive leadership role that encompasses all technical and logistical services for The Elms and Trent College. This includes; buildings, gardens and grounds, catering, cleaning, security, safety, transport and commercial operations.
HIGHLY EXPERIENCED
Mr Gregory has significant experience of estates and property management as well as the development and delivery of hospitality services. For over 20 years, he has worked in the independent school sector of which 12 years has been in his current role.
With a team of 100+ staff working under his guidance across the schools, his effective team leadership and development is essential to ensure the smooth running of the school. Alongside this, Mr Gregory is also responsible for the development and delivery of strategic operational plans to ensure the schools continue to provide a first-class environment.
CENTRAL TO THE COMMUNITY
Mr Gregory is an Old Trident himself (Trent College alumni) and has a deep connection with the school. He lives on site with his wife, three children and beloved jack russell, Dotty. For Mr Gregory and his family, the Trent community offers them a lifestyle rather than solely a job, which they all thoroughly enjoy.
Once a week, Mr Gregory can be found in the Blake boarding house undertaking the role of Duty Tutor. As a previous boarder of Trent College himself, he understands how to create the perfect balance of academic studies and fun activities for the boarders.
Having always taken an interest in the co-curricular life of the school, Mr Gregory is frequently seen at sport, music and drama activities. Occasionally he will manage a school Rugby team at a match – which he does with full enthusiasm!
Mr Gregory regularly arrives at The Elms Open Days on his vintage tractor or Vespa scooter, which he loves to show to the children – these vehicles are also lent to Santa at Christmas!
HIGHLIGHTS
Mr Gregory has proudly seen many capital projects from the design phase through to completion. Recently these have included; The Prince Obolensky Building, Wortley Sixth Form Centre, re-surfacing the Catterns AstroTurf and the refurbishment of The Elms Annex.
The integration of commercial opportunities into school life is also an achievement for Mr Gregory, who enjoys welcoming local organisations and charities onto the school campus.
